North Winds

Track Notes:

Originally an acoustic song, North Winds is an amalgamation of two sets of lyrics set to a re-worked clean/heavy alternating musical track. Before settling on the song in its final form as presented here, it had one more arrangement that was very stop/start and… well, not good.

Dawn breaks across the land
And everything’s the same
Something stirs in all of us
And its name is Change

Refine the land, and grow cities
Lay the forests low
Progress is inevitable
And so the North Winds blow

Mortal men all die
All that’s left is dust and ruin

Simply nullified for a while
No one left can even smile

I have found that it’s all gone
Yes, our decisions were wrong.

The planet cooled and man appeared
He changed it all to fit his own needs
Then the sun cooled and the planet died
And still the North Winds blow.
